Meet Your Advocate

Hi, I’m Sarah.

I’m a non-attorney special education advocate. I help parents navigate IEPs and complex communication needs without the overwhelm, acting as a collaborator with the school, not a bulldozer.

Why work with me?

  • I’ve been in your shoes: When my child received an Autism diagnosis and became a nonspeaking AAC user, I felt like a bewildered bystander at our first IEP meeting. I mastered this system so you don't have to feel that way.

  • I’m highly trained: I am a graduate and member of the rigorous COPAA Special Education Advocacy 1.0 training, as well as the PEAL Center Family Institute.

  • I share your values: My advocacy is completely neurodiversity-affirming and disability-positive.

  • Pick My Brain

    A focused conversation when you need clarity, fast.

    A 60-minute paid consult for parents who have questions but aren't sure what they need yet. Bring an IEP, an email from the school, a behavior concern, or just the feeling that something isn't right — and we'll talk it through.

    No setup fee, no commitment beyond the call. Many families start here and decide what, if anything, comes next.

    $125/hour

  • IEP Review & Guidance

    Understand your child's IEP with confidence.

    IEPs can feel overwhelming — full of acronyms, vague language, and promises that are hard to picture in real life. I review your child's IEP and walk you through what it actually means, so you feel more informed and more confident about what to ask for.

    What's included:

    - 60-minute intake call to understand your child and your concerns

    - Review of up to 4 documents (current IEP, recent evaluation report, private evaluations)

    - Written summary in plain language, with notes and questions you can bring back to your team

    - 60-minute follow-up call to walk through findings together

    $350

  • Meeting Preparation & Strategy

    Feel steady and prepared before school meetings.

    School meetings can be stressful, especially when emotions are high and time is limited. This service helps you organize your thoughts, clarify your priorities, and walk in feeling more confident and less overwhelmed.

    I can also attend the meeting itself if that level of support is the right fit — we'll talk through what makes sense for your situation. Virtual attendance is included; in-person travel beyond 15 miles is billed at $50/hour plus mileage.

    $125/hour (3 hour minimum)

  • Ongoing Parent Support

    Consistent support as your child grows and needs change.

    Some situations aren't solved in one conversation. This option is for families who want steady, thoughtful support over time as they navigate communication needs, behavior concerns, or ongoing school challenges.

    Two ways to work together:

    Hourly — $125/hour, billed in 15-minute increments as needed

    Monthly retainer — $500/month for up to 4 hours of support, available for families who want predictable access

    Ongoing clients pay a one-time $150 new-client fee that covers full records intake and an initial plan of action.
